Effective immediately we will no longer be using St. Josephs hospital for our after hours stat laboratory testing!
All testing will be sent to LabCorp regardless of the time of day or night.
Each Nurses station has been supplied with the new LabCorp requisitions.
What does this mean to you? How does the process change?
Essentially it’s the same process. Just with a new requisition and phone number.
- Collect the blood specimen via a peripheral blood draw.
- Fill out the LabCorp requisition. (make sure and mark it STAT)
- Call LabCorp and they will send a courier to pick up the specimen. (no courier fee)
- Results will be faxed and/or called to the nursing station.

There are a few specimen requirement changes, so make sure and check the Lab label for the specimen code, or refer to the newly updated Laboratory Specimen Guide that is located at each nursing station.
